Getting Started: Poshmark vs. Mercari
Selling Fees
Believe it or not, there are selling fees on Poshmark and Mercari! There are no charges to list your items on either site. However, I have personally found that I went I tried to list my high end bags on Mercari, I had to pay a $5 authentication fee that could not be bypassed. I wasn’t too happy with the fee, but I paid it anyway so that I could list it.
After your item sells, Poshmark deducts a fee from the final order price. For sales under $15, the fee is a flat rate of $2.95. For sales above $15, the fee is 20% and you (the seller) keeps 80%.
After your item sells, Mercari charges a minute fee of 10% of the item price for a completed sale. This fee is charged to the seller. In addition, Mercari charges sellers a market competitive rate of 2.9% plus $0.30 for each payment received from the buyer.
Between the two platforms, Mercari has lower selling fees compared to Poshmark.
